அக்கினி காரியம் - RELATING TO SACRIFICIAL FIRE

224:
அங்கி நிறுத்தும் அருந்தவர் ஆரணந்
தங்கி இருக்கும் தகையருள்செய்தவர்
எங்கும் நிறுத்தி இளைப்பப் பெரும்பதி
பொங்கி நிறுத்தும் புகழது வாமே.

பொழிப்புரை

வேள்வியை ஒழியாது வேட்கும் அந்தணர், வேத வழக்கு இவ்வுலகில் அழிந்தொழியாதவாறு காப்பவராவார். அவ்வேள்வியை எங்கும் நிகழச் செய்யுமாற்றால் அவர்க்கு மெய் வருத்தம் பெரிதாயினும், இவ்வுலகில் எங்கும் மிக்கு விளங்குமாறு அவர் நிலைநாட்டும் புகழ் அச்செயலேயாம்.

taṅki irukkum takaiyaruḷceytavar
eṅkum niṟutti iḷaippap perumpati
poṅki niṟuttum pukaḻatu vāmē.

Meaning-[Sacrificial Flame is Undying]
------------------------------------------
In true penance striving, to Vedic rites conforming
They, who everywhere raise the sacrificial flame,
Tireless, unsparing in kindling the Holy Fire--
Theirs the true flame eternal, theirs the undying name.

ஓமத்துள் அங்கியின் உள்ளுளன் எம்இறை
ஈமத்துள் அங்கி இரதங்கொள் வானுளன்
வேமத்துள் அங்கி விளைவு வினைக்கடல்
கோமத் துளங்கிக் குரைகடல் தானே.

வேள்வித் தீக்கு உள்ளீடாய் நிற்பவன் எங்கள் சிவபெருமானே; அஃது, அவன் சுடுகாட்டில் தீயில் நின்று ஆடி, சிறந்த உயிரைத் தாங்கி நிற்றலானே அறியப்படும். இவ்வுண்மையை உணராது, உணர்த்துவாரையும் வெகுள்வாரது வெகுளியின்கண் உளதாகின்ற தீயால் விளையும் வினைக்கடல், மந்தரமாகிய பெரிய மத்தால் கலங்கி ஒலித்த கடல் போல்வதாம்.

īmattuḷ aṅki irataṅkoḷ vāṉuḷaṉ
vēmattuḷ aṅki viḷaivu viṉaikkaṭal
kōmat tuḷaṅkik kuraikaṭal tāṉē.

Meaning-[He is the Fire Within All Fires]

Inside the Fire of the Homa is my Lord,
Inside too is He seated in the flame of the funeral pyre;
The Fire of Homa which scorches Karma's surging sea,
The Fire, that the mighty Churner in the sea begot, still abides.
